THE NORTHERN ALBERTA DIACONAL CONFERENCE

The NADC is a gathering of deacons who represent the different diaconates within Classis
Alberta North. As a standing committee of Classis, the NADC promotes the ministry of deacons
through the following activities:
- Provide opportunities for learning, understanding the expectations of their role, and training
- Establish and maintain a venue for mutual sharing by deacons about their ministry
- Identifying community ministry opportunities
Other activities carried out by the NADC include:
- Host events to encourage and equip ministry leaders of the church, including but not limited to deacons, i.e. an annual Day of Encouragement
- Promote Refugee ministry in cooperation with CRWRC
- Partner with CRWRC and the King’s University College in development of the Honduras Water Project
- Partner with CRWRC to assist communities in Kenya with specific ministry initiatives. (The Kenya Committee is a sub-committee of and responsible to the NADC Board)
- Partner with Diaconal Ministries Canada in the development of community outreach ministry and support of Operation Manna projects www.diaconalministries.com
- Partner with Christian Stewardship Services, and the CRC Office of Social Justice to promote Stewardship Education and responsive social justice.
- To serve the diaconates by providing timely advice
- Communicate with and report to Classis Alberta North
