Nominating Committee
Mandate
Serve Classis by soliciting and presenting nominations for committee and other positions that need to be filled.
Membership
Three members, one of whom shall be a current member of the Classical Interim Committee. That member shall be the
convener for the committee. The other two shall be ministers, elders, or ex-elders, elected by classis.

Specific Tasks
- Receive, through the office of the Stated Clerk, a list of committee and other positions that will
become vacant in the following year. This event should occur in January of each year.
- End to the churches a list of all the vacancies for nomination or renomination, inviting them to submit
names in writing to the nominating committee.
- Invite and accept nominations from church councils, through the office of the Stated Clerk. Standing
committees of Classis also may make nominations for committee membership. Such committees are advised to
consult with the nominee’s council when they nominate.
- Present to Classis a ballot that lists all nominees, with sufficient copies for all delegates.
- All nominees must consent to their nomination.
